C.L. Carter Launches Health Care Data Archive IT Initiative

by Chris 2. March 2015 12:36

The rapidly changing landscape of Health Care has placed a high demand on qualified and experienced Health Care IT professionals and service providers. Meaningful use measures along with HIPPA standards are requiring Hospitals, Medical Doctors and Health Corporations to reshape their Health Care information technology. The impact on data capture and retention, storage, security and availability has all become highly critical to remain in compliance not to mention dramatically cutting operating costs.

Beginning in January 2015, C.L. Carter has launched the first of several initiatives for health care organizations at all levels to support their critical health care data (PHI). Legacy systems no longer compliant with required government mandates are being retired or upgraded. Consequently the critical data from these systems must be extracted and transformed accurately and completely. In the case of extraction these data are stored in HIPPA compliant health care data archives for querying and historical reporting etc. PHI requires special handling for security and accuracy during the ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) process. Also, timelines have become critical due to meaningful use waypoints and measures.

“As a first step, we’ve assembled a highly experienced and qualified "Data Extraction Project Team" consisting of Sr. DBA's, Data Quality Assurance Analysts and PNP Certified Project Manager Professionals to assist customers with this process. We know that time and accuracy is critical in this effort which is occurring within health organizations all over the country”, said company president Christopher Carter.

“We can work closely with existing staff and vendors if necessary to project manage, extract, verify, transform and load critical PHI all while working within the HIPPA compliant security of your organization. We fully support HL7 and our team has years of experience in the Health Care space.”
